You are invited to participate on the 44th Annual Student Art Show
This event is a juried exhibition for all students currently enrolled at El Paso Community College, not exclusively to the Art Department.
Only original artwork not previously submitted to a previous EPCC Art Show event is eligible.
Eligible media may include, but are not limited to:
drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, prints, pottery/vessels, sculpture, digital art, collage, metalwork, jewelry design, fiber/textile art, woodwork, video, performance, architectural graphics, architectural models, graphic design, etc.
Artwork must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else's copyrighted material
(If your image infringes upon another's copyright it will be disqualified)
The entry fee is $3.00 for each artwork submitted. Students may enter up to 5 pieces of artwork. Payment must be submitted before your entries.
2D Pieces: You can submit one general image of the piece and one detail.
3D Pieces: You can submit two general images and one detail
NOTE: There Will Be No Return of Any Entry Fees
Deadline for Submissions
Thursday, April 1st AT 11:59 PM (MT).
Pieces will not be accepted after midnight (MT).
Artwork must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else's copyrighted material.
Artwork will be displayed for public viewing on this website under "Art Show 2021" on April 29th after the Artist Lecture by the Juror is finished.
There will be a link to the Salon des Refusés that will open simultaneously with the Show.
Aceptance of Notification
Every student whose artwork is chosen for the art exhibition will receive an email notification. All other art participants will receive an email notifying them that their artwork was not selected, but will be featured on the Salon des Refusés.
The guest juror will select artworks from the exhibition to receive awards. Award winners will receive their cash prizes deposited into their student EPCC account using the student Id# provided.
There will be a Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prices for 2D and 3D as well as an Architecture Award and Honorable Mentions.
The awards presentation will be announced via video on Thursday, April 29th, immediately after the Artist Lecture on the "Award Winners" page on this site.
Awarded pieces and their information will be visible also there.
Digital image files must meet the following specifications:
JPG or JPEG files only
Resolution: 72 pixels per inch (dpi) and largest dimension 1200 pixels. (In hight or length)
JPG compression quality of 12 (or the highest quality setting)
Max size: 3MB
Do not send images of your artwork, which are framed or contain watermarks.
Video file formats: you must submit a YouTube link, Vimeo link, or Swey link. If these requirements are not followed, your artwork is subject to disqualification for jurying.
The sizing and labeling of your images is very important. Each JPEG image needs to be labeled/renamed in the following manner; Artist Name, Art Title, Medium Used, Size (HxWxD and in inches), EPCC Campus, submission number. Here is an example: Brown-Bird in the Wind-Oil pastels-8x10-RG-1

Students who submit their artwork to the EPCC Student Art Show and have any of their submitted artwork chosen for participation in the art exhibition agree to the following:
That the Art Show be granted usage of the chosen artwork, only for display, marketing and promotional purposes for that art exhibition, and for any future art exhibitions.
The student further agrees that the Art Show can maintain an archive of the chosen artwork after the competition for the purpose of a historical documentation and as a record of past shows. This archive will be available for public viewing and be limited to the EPCC Art Show website (https://www.epccartshow.com/).
The Art Show will credit each image creator with their Artist Name, File Name, and the Artist Website, if applicable.
Should you have any questions and/or concerns about file format, sizing or anything at all, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Your images should be clear, in focus, on a clean background, and show the artwork completely. Feel free to edit your images by fixing lighting, contrast or any other details.
